Free noon concerts and early-evening spoken-word "Traffic
Jam" round out the lineup
The Mayor's Office of Arts & Cultural
Affairs hosts Seattle Presents, free noontime concerts
on City Hall Plaza every first and third Thursday with
a bonus performance July 27. Bring your lunch to the summer
lineup featuring outdoor performances by Seattle Women's
Jazz Orchestra, The Tiptons, Seattle Men's Chorus with
Seattle Women's Chorus, The Gold Spikes, and Children
of the Revolution.
New this summer is an early-evening "Traffic Jam"
featuring performances by top Seattle spoken-word artists
and refreshments provided by neighborhood restaurants.
City Hall is located at 600 4th Avenue (between Cherry
and James St.), where free arts and cultural events continue

Seattle Men's Chorus with the Seattle Women's Chorus
Thursday, July 20, noon - 1 p.m.
Seattle Men's Chorus and Seattle Women's Chorus join forces
in a rare free outdoor performance of large- and small-group
choral works. The Seattle Men's Chorus is the largest
community chorus in America and the largest gay men's
chorus in the world! The Seattle Women's Chorus made its
world premier in April 2002 and has quickly grown to over
200 singers.

Top Seattle spoken-word artists convene for a summer
evening poetry jam features performances by RA Scion of
Common Market, poetry slam diva Melissa Noelle Green,
performance artist Stokley Towles, rising stars from Youth
Speaks, and theatrical orator Christian St. Jacques. Postpone
your commute a while and come enjoy the light refreshments
and lustrous language. Presented in partnership with Allied
Arts and Jack Straw Writers Program.

Thursday, Aug. 3, noon - 1:30 p.m.
24-carrot rockabilly from trumpeter, singer, and guitarist
Billy Joe Huels (founder and leader of the Dusty 45s).
Billy Joe teams up with thumpin' bassist Guy Quintino
and Telecaster master Jerry Battista for a lean, mean
trio sound that rings true for both rockabilly and hipster
ears.
Children of the Revolution
Thursday, Aug. 17, noon - 1:30 p.m.
One of Seattle's most sought after world-music groups,
Children of the Revolution melds flamenco, Greek, Native
American, and Middle Eastern song and dance traditions
to create high-energy shows with a revolutionary sound.
Wear comfortable shoes because the music will move you.
The Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs promotes the
value of arts and culture in and of communities throughout
Seattle. The 15-member Seattle Arts Commission, citizen
volunteers appointed by the Mayor and City Council, supports
the city agency.
